Dennis Poeschel, PPSA of Milwaukee,
Wisconsin. Dennis is a member of the Unlimited Visions Photo Club located in
Waukesha, Wisconsin. His PSA membership has spanned two periods. In the
1970’s he was an active competitor and member of several local clubs. Dennis
taught photography for adults in the local Technical College. These classes
included basic and advanced camera techniques, darkroom and the zone system.
As a young family began to develop these activities slowed as he focused on
his family. In addition he ran a portrait and wedding photography business
at the time for 15 years. Also, in the 70’s, he played a key roll in the
organization of the then Wisconsin International Salon of Photography. With the advent of the digital world, and a now
grown family, Dennis rekindled his love for the camera and photography. Gone
were the days of wet darkroom.
Dennis quickly rejoined PSA and became active in
many areas. With a strong competitive spirit the international exhibitions
and shows are his focus. Interested divisions include small prints,
photojournalism in all formats, EID and most recently the dual projected
images in the color slide division. Dennis has quickly earned various star
ratings in all these division to earn him his PPSA recognition. He has 3
Stars in Color Slide, 3 Stars in EID (Color), 1 Star in EID (Mono), 1 Star
in PJ (second one pending), 3 Stars in Pictorial Print Color and 2 in
Pictorial Print Mono.
In addition to the competition exhibitions,
Dennis donates his photographic abilities to local charities and area
events. He lectures to area camera clubs on various topics of interest and
writes articles for the PSA Journal.
