January Title - "Lioness through the Glass"

How I did it -

This image was photographed with an iPhone 4. The Lioness was sleeping against a outdoor window at a Chicago Zoo. The ambient lighting was shady daylight. I used the Hipstamatic app with the John S. Lens and Kodak film settings. This resulted in the square format and creative edge. For the sharpening. used an app called Iris Photo Suite. . Then I converted the image to B/W with NIK Silver Efex Pro in CS5. Sometimes I can do all the editing in the cell phone.

COMMENTS:
David Halgrimson For a phone shot, it is really well done. The boarder works as well. I feel it is cropped too close as it takes a little looking to know what the subject is. The overall tones are a bit flat so nothing stands out. For me it does not carry much interest.
Mohammed Arfan Asif Considering that it has been taken with an iPhone and all the image editing tools used it works to give a certain impact and feel to this image. But still for me it is too tight a compo. I like the border used.

Paul Hoffman For an iPhone this is brilliant, all the detail is there. We placed in the frame the the tight crop and that paw is beautifully placed. Outer frame does help the image. Very nice image.
Kit Snider
Nice capture. The very tight crop and placement in the frame give the feeling that you could just reach out and touch the cat. Great detail throughout and good conversion.
Roc Godec Phones allow us to use several photo tools and built-in cameras are better and better. It's a nice composition and there are nice tones. You make nice photo and I like it although I usually don't like pictures of captured animals.
Jim Baker I continue to wonder at the images you are getting with your iPhone.  This image is cropped a bit tight for me but it does make the viewer feel very close.  The animal’s fur is shown in great detail emphasizing  the overall  sharpness of the image.  You might increase the contrast a little.
