January Title - Chinaberry

How I did it -

I was in Tucson AZ shooting the Barrios, old neighborhoods, built in the late 1800's hundreds early 1900's. The sky was very grey overhead but had nice clouds lower, this caused a striking contrast with the Chinaberry tree. I worked it in CS5 using Curves, Contrast, and B&W then used Topaz B&W Effects to give it a slight warming tone. Canon 5D, f11, 1/125, ISO 100, 28-135mm at 75mm.

Mohammed Arfan Asif Interesting and very pleasing image. Though I would have gone for the normal black and white tone, here I see the warm tone suiting the image and creating a nice contrast and texture. The clouds below give the added depth to this image. A wider frame would also have given a good feel and atmosphere to this image.
Jerry Hug I like the tree above the clouds effect. This makes for an interesting look. I like clouds, fog and other natural atmospheric uses in photographs. The warming effect works for me. If this is not a preset, I sure would make the warm tone setting a preset for future images with the same tone.
Paul Hoffman The work and filter you have applied has produced a please Autumn Glow to this image. The cloud formation at the base support the image well and the tree has been placed nicely in the frame.
Kit Snider
Nice composition with the interesting position of the tree angling out above the clouds. At first I thought it was a color photo. It reminds me of trees up north just budding out in spring. Nice texture and contrast in the tree. I only wonder what the dark spot is in the clouds - a shadow? All in all, quite unique and successful.
Roc Godec I like the presentation of the tree but it's a bit too warm for me. Flower is too yellowish and doesn't present enough contrast. Clouds at lower part are nice addition to the image
Jim Baker Very effective composition with the Chinaberry tree forming a frame for the cloud formation on the bottom of the frame.  I particularly like the warm tone on the tree and its branches which works to give a more natural look.  The background  is a nice muted grey.  This is a pleasing presentation.
