The
joy of the musician playing the flute is clearly conveyed to the
viewer. Composition is perfect too. The dark shadow on the right sleeve
indicates the lighting is a bit harsh. |

The
lighting, the subject, the activity and the complementary background
make for a memorable image. Nice job of finding the right moment
to snap and showcasing the subject with great ambiance. |

The
tones and details captured here are impeccable. I love the way he is
looking to his side at the camera. I can even see the wrinkle lines on
his fingers. This is a Fantastic capture. |

Very
nice image Carl. Nice use of the flute leading in to the musician. I am
curious how the image would be if you were to lighten the area around
his right hand and below it a little. I think if it were my image U would tone down further the high liights in the background. |

Carl Soerens, APSA - Biography I lived most of my life in Wisconsin and joined my first camera club in 1985 and also joined PSA. I relocated to Dallas, TX in 1993 and I now am retired and living in Central Texas. I don’t currently belong to a camera club, so I am looking forward to being part of the group. I have competed in PSA Exhibitions for many years and have earned multiple stars in CPID, PJD, PTD and EID (color and mono). I have held several positions in the PJD including Star rating Director for seven years. I served a term as Publications Vice President for PSA in 200-2001. I have not worked with Monochrome photography until I converted to digital a few years ago. I have much to learn from more experienced monochrome photographers in this group. |
