Title - Joshua Fruit

How I did it -

This was taken at Joshua Tree National Park, California. This is a close-up of the fruit from the tree. Next time I will attempt to show the actual tree.

I used Threshold in photoshop to get this overall effect. I achieved a smooth gradation by adding Noise to the picture - Monochrome Gausian Noise.

Sorry for not explaining the technique last time!

Interesting composition but the effect you use when it comes to this image doesn't work for me.

Richard Lotman Brown

At first view, this appeared to be a much larger subject, adding to the drama that comes from isolating a small part of nature.  The background effect adds a nice flare to the existing dynamic.

John Gilkerson

An unusual choice of subject for this treatment.
However I feel that this works.

Diane Bovenkamp

I have never seen a Joshua Fruit in the flesh, but my impression from viewing this photo is that it’s a
rough, wild cluster. Your style of processing keeps giving me the impression that they were taken by an
explorer from the turn of the century.

It appears to be a very inovative way of capturing the Joshua Fruit. It at first struck as an abstract photo.

Carl Soerens

Your processing technique works well with this image.  The dark background in the top of the frame sets off the fruit nicely. The white halo effect below that works well with the tree needles/leaves.

Anu Nadimpalli - Biography

I like to capture architecture, both Built & Natural. As a former architect I like to bring out the intricacies of the built environment, its Engineering and its Artistic beauty, through the lens of my camera. Although I have always loved photography, circumstances have led me to pursue it much more seriously during the past decade. My husband and I like to travel around the world. My very first SLR was a Minolta Dynax 404si. However, I have moved to a digital SLR, a Konica Minolta Dynax 5D, (now called Sony Alpha), since November 2005. My main goal in being a Photographer, is to also to be a Photo Artist. For a few years now, I have been developing a particular style of photo art. By joining this group, I hope to learn, develop and ultimately improve on this particular style of photo artistry. I am very grateful to PSA for giving me this enormous opportunity.
