Very cute! I especially like the sparkle in the dog’s eye. |

Our daughter used to have a black lab so this brings back memories! They are loveable dogs. I would like to know if you used flash or natural light since the highlight in the dog's eye is like a star burst. It is too bad that the ear is cut off and I find that distracting. You didn't provide camera/lens information so I don't know if you could have zoomed out or moved back. I think it is better to show the entire head of an animal unless you move in very close. |

I just want to give Nellie Mae a big smooch. What a nice close up dog shot. I might like it better if you would desaturate the collor as my eye tends to go to the color. |

I really like that expression. I like the position of the head and the eye is sharp. I would have removed the collar since I find that distracting. |

Looks like Nellie Mae is a sweetheart. The lighting is harsh (midday?) but provides nice separation from the background. The star catchlight is intriguing. |

Jim Weidenfeller - Biography
Photography and I became acquainted many years ago. In junior high school I began taking 8 mm movies. Then it was on to black and white stills and a darkroom. I have been fortunate to be able to travel extensively in this country and several others around the world. Children and grandchildren are the greatest excuse one needs for expanding one’s photo opportunities and developing ability I didn’t know existed. Since 2000 I have been hooked on digital photo imaging. The challenge of learning something new is endless. Digital cameras offer anyone the chance to grow in the field. Along with learning a whole new way of photography, the digital darkroom and the endless ways of image manipulation have provided hours of satisfaction. Sometimes the images are good, great and just plain terrible. But every one of them has taken me to a new place, and made me see things in a different light. |
