| Lynn Ronan | I like the blur effect in the background – it really makes the lanterns stand out. The only suggestion I would make is to crop out the partial column on the right and maybe straighten it to the balcony line on the bottom. |
| Jon Fishback | I think this is an excellent job of manipulation to give me a very three dimensional look. |

Blurring the building was a good decision. Would you be able to see more detail in the lantern if they were darkened half a stop or so? You did a good job with the balance by putting the lantern between two windows. |

I am really enjoying your photos of Spain and really like what you did with this shot. The street light does pop out of the photo, without losing the ambience of Spain with the photogenic building behind. Nice job. |

I believe you had the right idea, however I think that the background could use a lot more blur, and you might want to try cropping the image to a vertical which would put a great deal more emphasis on the lantern. |

Member 2 - Biography I retired from the Quality Assurance area of Abbott Laboratories four years ago. Just prior to my retirement I purchased a Mac computer and started auditing classes at the local technical college at the reduced senior rates to learn how to use my new Mac. I took Intro to Digital Photography four times as I found the learning curve for Photoshop to be steep.
Before digital, I shot mainly slide film and am a member of two camera clubs. Slide film is very unforgiving and quite often I tossed out images that had flaws. With Photoshop, I find that I can salvage many of these images. Photoshop with its exposure adjustments and various filters brings out my creative instincts. I can spend a lot of time “adjusting” images. Thank heavens I am retired, as Photoshop is a very time consuming hobby.
