Some of my careers include teaching students from kindergarten age to adults, and training reading specialists at the graduate level for 23 years in Southern California.

When we moved to Washington, DC in 1983 I studied at the Corcoran School of Art where I received a Certificate of Fine Arts in painting and drawing. Since then I've worked as an artist and graphic designer, and have participated in juried exhibits nationally and internationally. I am also a member of Washington Apple Pi, a Macintosh users group in the DC area, where I've helped out with pictures, animations, sysopping (that surely must be a word) on their electronic bulletin board system, and various other activities. And now some of my very best friends are lovable nerds.

I am a beginning photographer, and used my photographs initially as reference material for my art. Presently I have a Cannon PowerShot SD800 IS. My work system includes my camera, a Macintosh PowerPC G5, an Epson Perfection 2450 Scanner, and other hardware. My software includes Adobe CS3 Design and iView Media Pro. I am looking forward to learning more about photography through our work together.
