As soon as I saw this it made me think
of Frank's work a couple of times back that was based on a negative
(inversed) image. This works very nicely. I like the way
you take the viewer's eye from the border into the blossom images
using color. |
| Claudia Peterson | Nice
mood to this image. It is a bit chilly for a flower scene, but no
problem. The white streaks criss-crossing the background behind the
flowers is distracting. Perhaps a little cloning. Nice that you did
include "3" flowers. I enjoy that one is in shadow and also more
subtle. Clever idea. |

Great.
It is my view that you should start with "curves"
until by trial an error you will get a desired
effect with richer color tones. Only then I would
play with hue and Saturation to obtain fine tuning

| Frank Crommelin | Great
interesting Image, excellent color and composition and presentation.
The only thing that I might try is to tone down on the white petals
to give it a softer look. This would look great hanging in any room. |

Composition
and framed are ok. The background texture is
pleasant. Pop color adds creativity. |

Ian Ledgard - Biography I am a retired Chartered Forester having spent my career mainly with a private company in the UK. I live close to the small market town of Llandeilo in South West Wales a scenic area with strong historic connections. My interest in photography was stimulated by my father who taught me how to develop and print shots taken on a Box Brownie in a makeshift darkroom in our home. Through the years I have progressed through black and white, colour transparency, E6 home processing and Cibachrome printing. I took up digital in 1999 scanning prints and negatives for a couple of years before taking the plunge into digital capture. All my work has been in Photoshop and I print using Epson printers. I have always been more interested in producing images than in the latest piece of kit and so all my equipment is relatively modest. I firmly believe in taking pictures which I enjoy; if they are also appreciated by others then that is a great bonus. I hold a Licentiateship of the Royal Photographic Society (LRPS) am an Associate of the Welsh Photographic Federation (AWPF) and have gained a first EID colour star. I regularly judge club and inter club competitions throughout South Wales and for the last five years have enjoyed some success in International Salons. |
