Nyhaven Canal Copenhagen
Shot with a Sony Alpha 100 with 24 mm lens at ISO 200 f/14 1/320 in RAW.
Processing limited to normal lighting and color adjustments in the Adobe RAW
processor. Shot in good evening light around 7:40pm where the sun doesn't
really go down until around 10:00, but slowly slides along the horizon for a
long time. All the bars and people congregate on one side of the canal.
Most of the best photography is from the other side of the canal where this
was shot from the stairs of one of the harbor and canal boat boarding
points.

Great color. Makes me want to travel to Denmark. Why is it that most images of northern Europe have that orange - red color cast. Never see that in images taken in the USA. Is it that late evening light that gives it that color? I like the picture. The sky is a nice blue and the dark water brings your eyes to the boats and buildings. |

Stan Bormann I have had an interest in photography since a photography class I took in ninth grade, but I have only been serious about it for the last three years since I retired. I had a 35mm SLR in the 70s and 80s but then made the mistake of taking up video recording and did not carry two cameras so I could not take stills. I am back to still photography with the digital revolution and have carried a Canon S40 and now a Nikon 8700. I generally use Photoshop CS for photo editing.
