Stan Bormann
I have had an interest in photography
since a photography class I took in ninth grade, but I have only
been serious about it for the last three years since I retired.
I had a 35mm SLR in the 70s and 80s but then made the mistake
of taking up video recording and did not carry two cameras so
I could not take stills. I am back to still photography with
the digital revolution and have carried a Canon S40 and now a
Nikon 8700. I generally use Photoshop CS for photo editing.
My wife Shirley and I live winters in the Phoenix AZ area and
summers in northern Minnesota on Lake Ada. We like to travel
and much of our photography is on our trips.
I have gotten involved with organized photography in the last
three years. I am currently the president of our photo club at
a retirement community, Sun City Grand, and am the slide and
digital competition chairman for ACCC (Arizona Camera Club Council).
Our Sun City Grand club is newly formed and we have only had
competition for about two years. I learned about PSA as part
of developing our club and have been a PSA member for only two
years.
