Pat Gordy Just in the past few years have I really gotten serious about photography as an art. In the late 1960s, I was a free lance reporter and took photographs to go along with my articles - even developed my own black and white prints. Then my children came along, and I mostly shot photos of family life events. In 1999, after my husband (Wendell) took early retirement, he took the summer intensive photography course in Missoula, MT, with Rocky Mountain School of Photography, and came back home speaking a different language - all about photography. Afterwards, I took some photography classes in our local community college and attended workshops so I could learn what Wendell was talking about. Wendell has been a great inspiration for me. I enjoy all types of photography, but lately I have been drawn to shooting macros of patterns and textures. I shoot digitally with a Canon 10-D, and I process the images on my PC with Photoshop CS2 and print them on an Epson printer. I am a member of the Photographic Society of Chattanooga, and PSA. I have served on the PSC Board in different capacities including as President, PSC newsletter editor, and club representative to PSA. Also, I serve PSA as the Director of Region 13 NC, SC, and TN. Since I have quit work, we enjoy our photography hobby while traveling in our RV. I enjoy participating in the EI Study Group. |
