| Aggie Villanueva | You
did a good job cloning out the road and golf cart. I wouldn't have
known if you hadn't shown us. I also like the color enchancement.
Bright and sunny and so summery feeling. You're right -- there is a
surreal feel to it that I like too. To me the attraction to this picture is the tree and shadow. I would love to see it again with the entire right side cropped off including the whole right side of the tree -- so that the middle of the tree trunk is the far right edge of the photo. The only thing remaining in the photo would be the part of the tree throwing its shadow to the left and the left shadow itself. See what I mean? I could also see this great picture as a moody black and white. But what do you think? That's all that really matters |
| Roy Cordingley | Very photographic old snag tree on the golf range and the shadow of the tree adds lots of interest. Looking at the “Source Image” if the golf cart has reverse gear I would of backed up enough to get the golf cart out of the picture before taking the picture and it would of served another purpose so you wouldn’t have to crop as much and all the tree limb would be in the picture. Very good job cloning the fence stakes out. The horizon could have been straightened! |
| Dr. Mohanan Nair | I liked the composition of the tree, its shade and the complimenting small plant on the right side. Cropping and cloning have been done perfectly. I feel this image is good for filters like Emboss, Solarize or Glowing Edges. Did you try? |
| Sally Grugan | Wonderful image! Great old tree! and you can continue to use the original for many interesting derivations. |
| Timothy D. Morton | I enjoy the look at the feel of the clouds now working with the tree branches and thus make it a moving shot |
| Charles Blume | I think the crop improves the photo greatly. |

Barb Athanasiou - Biography
I am a retired technology/math teacher living in Florida with my husband, Bob (a member of group # 19). I come from a long line of amateur photographers and have enjoyed taking pictures since digital cameras came out. Most of the time my subjects tend to be flowers, animals, grandchildren and sometimes scenery. I started with a Sony Mavica that saved images on a floppy disk and then graduated to an Olympus 2100 Ultra Zoom. I now use a Nikon Coolpix 5700 and a Nikon D70 when I can pry it from my husband's clenched fingers. I use Paint Shop Pro 9 for most editing and I'm trying to learn Photoshop Elements 3. Both Bob and I have become active in the photography club here in our retirement community (The Villages). I have taken on the roll of webmaster and twice monthly scan and post the contest winners. To see them click here! Besides photography I have been playing golf, ballroom dancing, creating digital scrapbooks, watching birds and in general being constantly ‘on vacation' |
