Title - The Beach

How I did it -

The photo was cropped.  I also used basic PhotoShop editing tools in an attempt to improve the picture.

The colors are muted and lovely. Your cropping works well for me. The blue house makes a nice contrast to the pink sky and you have a good diagonal line in the conmposition.

Bobbie Delory Nice shot.  I like that you took the photo from a lower spot then the houses.  Great light

Jarrett Reagan Very good composition. I love the soft colors and the way the houses draw your eye into the shot. However, I might suggest cropping out the house on the left. Seems out of place.

Carmen Sewell

The panoramic format certainly fits the subject well and the pastel colors give it a very inviting and peaceful feeling. Well done

Rick Finney The soft pastel colors are lovely and lends a beautifully quiet mood to the picture.  The panorama effect of your cropping also works well.

George Bebout

I would like to crop this just past the eaves on the left hand building, seein just part of it bothers me.

Member Bio
Linda L. Hudson - Biography

My name is Linda Hudson.  Although my home base is Kingwood, Texas, my husband and I currently live in Jakarta, Indonesia.  Since 1996 we have also lived in China, United Arab Emirates, Turkmenistan, and Nigeria.  I am honored to have experienced so much of God's great world first hand.

My basic photography skills need lots of work. I hope that this study circuit will play a part in honing those skills.  Please feel free to be tough when making comments on the photographs that I submit.  What doesn't kill me makes me strong (as "they" say)!

I am drawn to street photography and to un-posed portraits (Is "un-posed portraits" an oxymoron?).  At this stage of my "game," I am focused on basic skills as opposed to major manipulations with imaging software.  I eagerly anticipate a time when FOP (Fear of Photoshop) is no longer an issue and I can join the ranks of those of you have achieved mastery of this new technology.

I have a Canon 10D and an Olympus 700 UZ.  I have an Epson 925 printer.
