Cormorant
How I did it -
The image was opened twice. The first time (which became layer 1) was not adjusted. The second time (which became layer 2) the image was adjusted in camera raw by decreasing the exposure and increasing the brightness. Everything except the bird was masked out of this layer. Additional reeds were cloned on the left side and the reed extending from the birds head was cloned out. The image was flattened. The filter Artistic>Neon Glow (yellow) was applied to the whole image and Poster Edges was applied just to the bird. The image was sized as instructed.

In 1986 I be came interested in photography. After retiring from teaching high school math in 1994, I joined the local camera club and began to learn more about photography. In 2000 I bought my first computer, scanner and printer which enabled me to control my images from film to print. I began experimenting with digital cameras in 2003 and now shoot only digital with a Nikon Coolpix5700 and Nikon D70. I prepare my images in Photoshop CS3. At present I belong to two camera clubs, one in Texas and the other in New Mexico. Another hobby, travel, gives me lots of photo opportunities. |
