The image was desaturated and the exposure and black were increase in Camera Raw. A copy was made with blend mode set to Difference. This results in a black canvas. With the opacity down to 50% (in order to see where to paint) I used the Mixer Brush Tool with Wet set at 100% to paint back the bridge.
When I had painted enough to see the outline of the bridge the opacity was increased to 100% and I continued painting to get the effect seen here. The image was cropped. An image of the moon was desaturated, placed and sized in the picture. The blend mood for this layer is Pin Light. The image was flattened. Hoping to make it float better on the web page some black was painted where the white of the bridge touches the sides. |
COMMENTS: This is really great, Minnie. Very futuristic. I hope I can learn PS well enough to do work like this one day. I'm going to play around with your instructions and see if I can replicate it. Very cool. You always think outside the box. The sharp moon contrasted with the dreamy bridge make a great image.

Very nice and good technique. I like everything but would like to see somewhat of a base for the bridge to set on.

I liked this version the best. Adding the large moon with detail was a touch that once seen, I can’t imagine the scene without the moon.

I really love this one. Dark night, and the addition of the full moon was perfect! Good job!

In 1986 I be came interested in photography. After retiring from teaching high school math in 1994, I joined the local camera club and began to learn more about photography. In 2000 I bought my first computer, scanner and printer which enabled me to control my images from film to print. I began experimenting with digital cameras in 2003 and now shoot only digital with a Nikon Coolpix5700 and Nikon D70. I prepare my images in Photoshop CS3. At present I belong to two camera clubs, one in Texas and the other in New Mexico. Another hobby, travel, gives me lots of photo opportunities.
