| Carole Kropscot | You created a
nice hand-painted look to your family Santa portrait, but you didn't
use the Brush tool to do it. The hand painting technique of the
assignment was to brush over the photo in small strokes in the manner
of an artist using a paint brush. I found it time-consuming but very
entertaining and enlightening. I was surprised that the Smudge tool
could create a hand-painted look. |

| Ruth Rittichier | Sophia, the assignment was to paint the image using brushes, not to apply a filter. |

Great job using your family to make a great Christmas image. You did
a great job using the watercolor filter.

Sophia Aldridge My name is Sophia Aldridge. I am a native New Yorker who has been transported to Alabama a little more than 14 years ago. My father was an avid picture taker, and I did everything my dad did being that I was the “boy” he didn’t get. When I was young, I aspired to become a model/fashion designer, so I always had an eye for looking at things differently. When I started taking pictures I would always make everyone pose. My profession was Computer Specialist and so my expertise in computers enabled me to test many different software products. So when I started manipulating images, a new love emerged. Once in Alabama, I started to take more sporting events photos. I now use a Nikon D40x to capture my son growing up. It is easy for me to anticipate athlete movements, and when parents saw the images of their children as well as my son, they began requesting that I take all event shots. So with that, and strong encouragement from many friends, I decided to freelance. This is my first photography group, and I look forward to learning more. |
