January Title - "Glass Patterns"

How I did it - I photographed the inside of a large cut glass bowl. Poster Edges was used on I photographed the inside of a large cut glass bowl. Poster Edges was used on the top picture, and Glowing Edges with a high posterization number was used on the bottom image. I increased brightness and saturation on both. A blank layer was put under the bowl layer, and filled with color and some texture. A stroke was added. Happy New Year everyone!

COMMENTS:

Carole Kropscot Very nice pattern shot, with the main design being just slightly tilted. Your renditions make me stare at the cut glass lines with awe and enjoyment. I love cut glass! I think I like the bottom version better, because the cut glass seems more "cut."
Jenny Gu

I like both glass patterns. The color of top one is very elegant. My eye would like to explore more around middle part to enjoy these patterns; the color at bottom one is richer. Beautiful colors are shining with glowing edges and high posterization level. Well done.

Ruth Rittichier Your beautiful glassware was an excellent choice for this assignment.  You did an excellent job of applying those filters. The blacks look like part of the design, rather than artifacts, and your substantial saturation boost, gives it a richness it wouldn't have had otherwise.
Walter Ross
I like the way you display two images of the same bowl. They are tied together nicely with the border. I like the texture and color of the background.

Barbara Kuebler

As a child I had a Brownie box camera, and loved taking pictures from day one! I grew up in Lead, South Dakota; graduated from Grinnell College in Iowa; met my husband in Chicago, and moved with him back to his home town of Lake Worth Florida. We have been in Jupiter, Florida since 1975. We spend five months each summer in a house in the woods near Bigfork, Montana.

I still am a 35mm shooter all Nikon equipment with lens from 20mm up to 500mm. I originally started out as a nature photographer, but now shoot everything! We love to travel, and since I have been working with Adobe, I see all sorts of new possibilities when taking pictures. I have an older Sony Mavica digital camera that I sometimes use, but prefer to put my slide images in Photoshop and work with them there. I look forward to seeing your images and sharing photography with all of you.
