July - Lily Abstract
How I did it -
I took this last week in my friend's garden. It was stifling hot and
the mosquitoes were biting. Needless to say I didn't stay
photographing for long. I found this pretty lily and took quite a few
shots of it. I cropped to take away certain elements I didn't think
did anything for it. I went into Nik Color Efex and chose, Vignette,
with transition at 100% and opacity at 90%. After went into Topaz
Simplify and buzzed along with ink outlines. Smart sharpen at 50%.
(PS5) Finished with border. Stay cool everyone.

Topaz has certainly found a place in your heart. So much so that I have myself succumbed to obtaining it even though I try to make most of my images from Photoshop. The simplify, I find, has to be used with great care. Unfortunately this is just a little too abstract for my taste. Perhaps a darker vignette might help concentrate the eye. |

Nice image Leoni. I like the color saturation and the black lines, very abstract. I think I would have tried darkening the upper right side of the image slightly. Nice triple border too. |

The artistic look and colors are very inviting but I can t see the
composition here.

This is absolutely beautiful. I thought at first the effect had been achieved using Painter. Topaz Simplify can give some great effects but I haven't seen anything like this before. The addition of ink outlines is a great idea. I'll be out in the garden when I finish these comments to see if any of my lilies are worth photographing. |

Very nice image. I like the painterly look and the softness of the flower. The ink outlines make the edges stand out. |

Don't know what to say here, as my favorite part is the border. It is of course a matter of taste, but I don't feel that the effects have added anything to what was likely a lovely base image. |
