Fly me to the Moon

"Fly me to the Moon" was taken at a hot air balloon festival in the Wine country near San Francisco. It was taken with my Nikon D2X and little or no manipulation was done on the image in Photoshop CS5.

Dan Costello Very cute balloons with good saturation but I think you have 2 pictures here. The 2 balloons seem to be competing for my attention. Maybe a wide angle would allow you to get more balloons in the photo.

Mark Southard How disgusting ! You can see right up his pants!
Of course, I am kidding. This is a fine PJ imge.....

Gary Davi Interesting balloon, it definitely give the image something to talk about –- I like the composition it provides depth and height, plus the position of the moon makes one wonder how high where they? I also appreciate the difference in coloration of the sky. Well done.
Sukumar Nice image. I think the second balloon provides a counterbalance. It would have been great of you coukld have got a little more separation between the gondola and the foot.

Allan has had over thirty years experience in starting new and managing technology companies in various areas including biotechnology and medical devices. In those companies he was involved with R&D, marketing and sales and senior administration. His last company was a digital imaging company and when he retired he transferred some of the technology in that company to his 40 year old hobby of photography.

Allan used film in a SLR camera to take both black and white and color photographs of his many trips around the world during his time in the US Navy and on many of his business trips. He developed and printed his Black and White pictures in his own darkroom after going to night school to learn darkroom techniques. His first task after retirement was to digitize his large collection of B/W negatives and color slides and now does all of his photography using a NIKON D2X SLR camera equipped with wide angle and telephoto lenses. He processes his images using Photoshop CS3 and prints on an Epson 4800 printer using Qimage software to drive the printer. He also mats and frames his own prints.

Allan is also a member of the Berkeley Camera Club, N4C and PSA. During the last year he has won several first prizes in the Pictorial, Creative and Travel categories at the Berkeley Camera Club.
