Augusta in Spring

I took this photo at Augusta during trials for the Masters. In Photoshop, I cropped it, cloned out little red flags and other distractions, and used level and other usual adjustments. When finished, I took it into a painter program and turned it into a watercolor. When done, I went back into Photoshop and once again used levels to adjust the colors and used unsharp mask to sharpen it. This is the final product.

COMMENTS:

Alastair Cochrane A very pleasing blend of colours - does it need a focal point? - I'm not sure as the colours and textures are probably interesting enough in creating a whole image.
Mark Southard A lovely painterly image.... makes me wonder what painters would think of this ?
Snehendu Kar I love the soft painting effect you have created... very effective use of filters that transformed a good shot into a great scene.
Claire Riemer I admire all the detailed work that went into making this image into a painting. The flowering trees are extremely delicate and the colors are wonderful. Very beautiful.
Allan Fleischer Appealling image but some of it appears very sharp while other parts are very soft. It is hard to focus on any part of the image.
Sukumar Ver ynice effect and well done. I have no criticism. I would use something like this in personalized greeting cards and posters.

Mindy Leeds

My interest in photography started when I was quite young. I got my first SLR in 1971 as a high school graduation present. About 10 years ago, I joined a local camera club, Morris Photocolor, in New Jersey. It was then that I began to learn what makes a really good picture. I became President and served in that capacity for several years. During that time, I was fortunate to meet a number of really great photographers, who were willing to share their knowledge with me.

I am currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia, and am a member of Cobb Photo, a local camera club. Like many before me, I have traded in film and darkroom chemicals for a digital camera and computer. I am working hard to learn Photoshop CS2, especially layers, masks and filters.
