Title: "Beauty"

How I did it:

Photo taken in Rocky Mountain near Banff.
This is essentially a straight shot,used Topaz pop-photo and Nik darken/lighten filter.

Tom Icklan A stunning image. I hope most people have calibrated screens to appreciate the tonality. I have nothing to add except "bravo" for the excellent processing. 
Mark Greenberg A really beautiful capture. I like that the horizon is upper third, not mid-point. Wonderful sharpness to mountain, as well as it's reflection. I find the tilted tree somewhat distracting and would consider straightening it, since it draws me away from mountain. Might even just remove. Would also consider darkening white clouds just above right side of mountain range.

Kieu-Hanh Vu This image is so powerful with different forms and colors of the clouds. You have made it stand out using Topaz pop-photo and Nik darken/lighten filter. I’d prefer to place the horizon line a little higher in your frame so that it will be off center to make the viewer will focus attention more on the foreground with the reflection of pine trees, mountains, and clouds. Overall, very strong and beautiful scene !

My equipment: Canon SLR D40, Lenses: Canon 16-35 f2.8, Canon 70-200 f4, Canon 100 macro f2.8, Canon 300 f2.8, lensbaby. Laptop Dell Inspiron 6400 with second Dell monitor.
Software: Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom.

I carry my passions for exploration, adventure and the natural world for all of my life. For years, busy with my family and professional life, I was always happy to move to a new place ready to discover. My photographic interests started in Maryland of 2002, where I was a member of the National Institute of Health’s Camera Club.
