room in Koliba

Title - room in Koliba

How I did it :

One of the rooms in the house “Koliba” in Zakopane , village (today city) at the foot of the Tatra mountains. Koliba was designed by Stanislaw Witkiewicz, 19 th centaury writer and architect who tried to transform regional patterns into co-called “Zakopane style”

To make this photo I used HD range tool in CS3. I have 3 shots 1 stop apart. Because I shoot this without tripod I setup bracketing and continued shooting. This setup allowed me to make all 3 pictures with single click (long click) - so even handhold the frames are identical. Using HR I could not get green tree right so I used my photo exposed for the tree and add this as the new layer with mask. This “old fashion” method gave me better result then any of HR algorithms. I guess I need more practice with HR

Member Bio

Maria Korab-Laskowska

My photographic interests started in Maryland, 2002, where I become a member of National Institute of Health Camera Club. Initially my main interest was nature, especially wildlife. However, the more I know, the more I like. Actually, I love everything about photography. In 2004 I moved back to Montreal, did not find job in my profession (bioinformatics) and took this as an opportunity to go for my passion photography. Currently I am a student of Commercial Photography Program at Dawson College. I am member of Lakeshore Camera Club and Photographic Society of America.
